Overview
PriceFlip (“the App”) is a currency conversion tool that lets you scan or enter foreign prices and convert them using your trip exchange rate. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App uses and how it is handled.
The App is developed by Lucas Simines. By using PriceFlip, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Information we store on your device
PriceFlip stores settings and recent conversions only on your device (via on-device storage). This may include:
- Selected currencies and your trip / mid-market rate preferences
- Optional tax or fee percentage you enter
- Language preference
- Recent conversion history created in the App
This information is not uploaded to our servers. We do not operate a PriceFlip account system.
Camera and price scanning
If you use the camera scanner, PriceFlip accesses the camera to capture price tags and runs optical character recognition (OCR) on your device. Camera frames and recognized text are processed locally for conversion and are not sent to our servers.
Network requests
When you choose mid-market rate mode, the App requests exchange-rate data from the public Frankfurter API (frankfurter.app). Those requests include the currency pair needed for the conversion (for example, USD to BRL). We do not attach your name, email, or an account identifier to those requests.
Standard network metadata (such as IP address) may be processed by the API provider and your network operator according to their own policies.
Data we do not collect
- No account registration or login
- No advertising identifiers for ads
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in the App
- No sale of personal information
Children’s privacy
PriceFlip is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention and deletion
Because App data lives on your device, you can remove it by clearing App data / history in the App where available, or by deleting the App from your device.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
